A strong earthquake of magnitude 8.3 struck off the vicinity of santiago [capital city of Chille] on 16th at 7:54 pm.Tsunami alert has been issued in the whole coastal side of chille and the neighbouring countries of Peru even in Hawaii ,due to this strong earthquake.
Also,in the santiago downtown ,building were strongly shaken therefore thousands of fear stricen people came out on the street consequently there's happened a big ruckus everywhere.
But due to telecommunication's unstability no any detailed report about injured or damages have been rulled out.
USGS[united states geological survey] initially announced the Earthquake of magnitude 7.9 but immediately updated the magnitude to 8.3.
According to USGS ,the epicentre was located at the Pacific Ocean coast which is 228 km away from NW Santiago.And the depth of the focus was 5 km only.
Chille University estimated that the epicentre was 500km north of the Santiago and the depth of the focus was 11km.
A strong vibrations were figured out even in the capital city of Argentina which is 1400 km from the affected area.
After few minutes of devastating earthquake atleast two aftershocks of magnitude more than 6.0 occurred one after another.
Chille Government has issued an evacuation order saying that due to the strong earthquake a strong Tsunami could hit the country's coastal area at 11 pm.

More than 5 thousands people were killed in central Chille in 1960 due to strong Earthquake of magnitude 9.5.And recently ,An Eartquake of strong magnitude [8.8 ] hit hard Chille in Feb,2010.
