President Park, 15-22 Indo-Swiss Diplomatic Visit...to attend Davos Forum and New Year's first 'Korea Sales' on the way
President Park Geun-Hye will visit India followed by Switzerland from 15th-22nd of this month. He will also attend the 'Davos Forum', the annual summit of the 'World Economic Forum' while in Switzerland.
This will be his 6th foreign visit since he took office and the first after New Year.
This visit is expected to introduce our country's economic innovation policy and also the focus is on actively promoting 'economic investment opportunity' or 'Sales Diplomacy', the Blue House announced in a statement.
First of all, President Park, on invitation of the Indian government will visit India from 15th to 18th, and attend a summit conference with Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
In the 'two countries platform' conference, diplomacy, cooperation in fields of security, enhancement of education and investment expansion and promotion of practical cooperation, production economy, key fields in science and technology and ICT sectors are to discussed and building a strong foundation fir cooperation in consultation with the Korean Peninsula and exchange of opinion in the situation are to be expected, the Blue House said in a statement.
After that, President Park will visit Switzerland from 18th to 21st, and meet with President Burkhalter at the summit conference to discuss the investment expansion programs, vocational education, science and technology, strengthening cooperation, Global coordination on the climate change issue, and also discuss on matters of the Korean Peninsula situation.
It is the first time our country's President will visit Switzerland ever since our country established diplomatic ties with it in 1963.
After the end of the Switzerland visit on the 21st, President Park will spend 2 days attending the 44th annual summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF) (a.k.a. Davos Forum), and will give the keynote address on 'Creative Economy and Entrepreneurship' for a whole session.
The Federation of Korean Industries plan to schedule & host an event 'Korean Night' with representatives of selected Global Tech pioneer companies, Global Corporation CEOs and individual audiences.
The current President's attendance of the 'Davos Forum' is the first ever, since the former President Lee Myung-pak attended the summit in 2010.
