President of Republic of Korea on a state visit to Switzerland and India from 15th to 22nd.
President Park will embark a state visit to India and then Switzerland the coming 15th to 22nd. In Switzerland, she’ll attend the Davos Forum, the annual meeting of World’s Economic Forum.This is her 6th overseas visit since she took oath and the first visit of this New Year. Her visit defines Korea’s Economic Innovation Policy.
As reported by the BLUE HOUSE, this visit is actively purposed to promote Korea’s Foreign Sales Policy and Economic Policy.
As invited by the Government of India, President Park will be visiting India from 15th to 18th May and will meet Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh and engage into bilateral talks.
As per the briefing from the BLUE HOUSE, the top leaders from both the countries will engage in a talk to strengthen the co-operation in the field of Diplomacy and National Security and further promote the co-operation in the field of Education Investment expansion in real sense.
Also, leaders from both the countries will seek to build and investment for ICT and Science &Technology that forms the basis of creative economy and exchange of ideas will also be done in order to restore peace in Korean Peninsula.
Following this, President Park will be on a state visit to Switzerland from 18th to 21st.
In the bilateral summit meeting with Bruce Halter, they’ll argue on the issue of Trade investment promotion plans and Vocational training programs and also on the global issues like Climate Change etc.
After the establishment of the diplomatic ties between two countries in 1963, this is the first visit of the President.
After the completion of her state visit to Switzerland, President Park will be attending the 44th Annual Session of the World’s Economic Forum, which will be held in Davos for two days starting from 21st. She’ll be delivering the key note address on the issue of creative economy and entrepreneurial spirit. She’ll be meeting the representatives of Global Technology Leaders as ranked by W.E.F. in 2014 and will personally interact with the C.E.Os of these companies.
She’ll also be participating in the “KOREA NIGHTS” organised by F.K.I.
It’s been four years since a President of Korea attended the Davos Forum. The last time it was attended by President Lee Myung Bak in 2010.
