President Park's visit to India and Swiss from 15-22

President Park Geun-hye will pay state visit to India and Switzerland on coming 15th to 22nd. She will attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (Davos Forum) in Switzerland.

This is her sixth foreign trip and first overseas trip since she has assumed her office.

The Blue House has explained that this trip also focuses on sales diplomacy, which introduces Korea's economic innovation policies and actively promotes the economic and investment environment.

President Park will be on state visit to India from 15th to 18th as per the invitation of the Indian government and will hold a summit with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

According to Blue House, the leaders to the both the countries will focus on co-operation strengthening

in the fields of diplomacy and security and will promote real co-operation in the fields of education & investment expansion,and will establish the foundation of co-operation in science & ICT which is also the core of the creative economy.

They will also discuss the issues of North Korea.

Following this, President Park will hold a state visit to Switzerland and will hold a summit with President Brukhalter from 18-21. They will discuss ways to expand trade and investment, strengthening cooperation in the fields of vocational education and science& technology cooperation. They will also discuss security concerns arising in the Korean peninsula.

It is the first time that the President of Korea has paid a state visit to Switzerland since 1963.

After the state visit to Switzerland, President Park will attend the 44th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting from 21st onward which is also known as the Davos Forum where she will present key note address on creative economy and entrepreneurship spirit.

She will also hold meetings with representatives of the companies who are the global technology leaders as per the ranking of 2014 WEF and will have personal interaction with the CEOs of the Federation of Korean Industries organizing the 'Korea Night' event.

It been only four years since the current President has atteneded the Davos Forum which was last attended by President Lee Myung-bak in 2010.

Strong earthquake of magnitude 8.3 hits Chile.. Tsunami warning issued till Peru

A strong earthquake of  magnitude 8.3 occured in the vicinity of Santiago, the capital city of Chile, on 16th April at 7:54 PM. Because of the earthquake, the entire coastal area of Chile and the neighbouring country Peru , has been issued Tsunami warning and an advisory has been issued in Hawai, US. Also, the buildings of the Santiago city has were strongly shaken because of which thousands of fear-stricken citizens rushed out to the street, evacuating their houses, which caused a huge chaos. The Chilean government revealed that due to the unstable condition of communication services in that area, the details of injuries and damages cannot be reported yet. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) initially announced the magnitude of the earthquake to be at 7.9  but they immediately upgraded it to magnitude 8.3. STRONG QUAKE IN CHILLE [SANTIAGO].......TSUNAMI ALERT IN PERU
